New Terminology for the 21st Century

For cities to prosper in the 21st century, they must redefine themselves in a new way. Since 1983, RHI has contributed new terms to the planning lexicon to reflect economic changes and demographic trends. The objective is to promote positive attitudes towards sociability, and to raise awareness of the social, cultural and economic value of nightlife.

Descriptions of concepts that RHI has developed and refined via the lens of nightlife can be found in the sidebar on the left. These pages are a great starting point for your journey in learning how to create safe and vibrant places to socialize.
